Nov. 12 event at Daniels College of Business will explore the rise of the U.S. solar industry, entrepreneurship and lessons from more than 20 years in clean energy

DENVER, CO – Colorado solar executive and University of Denver alumnus Jared Schoch, founder and chairman of TurningPoint Energy, will return to the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver on Thursday, November 12, for a conversation about his new book, SOLAR COASTER: The Untold Story of the Solar Industry One Man’s Journey Leading with Soul (Regalo Press; November 10, 2026).

The event will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and feature a fireside conversation between Schoch and Naomi Boyd, dean of the Daniels College of Business, followed by audience Q&A and a book signing.

Drawing on more than two decades in the energy industry, Schoch takes readers inside the dramatic rise of U.S. solar and the repeated cycles of growth, disruption and reinvention that he calls the “Solar Coaster.” The book also explores the leadership lessons behind his decision to build TurningPoint Energy and his belief that lasting business success requires purpose as well as profit.

A resident of Colorado’s Vail Valley, Schoch earned his MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and has served on the board of Denver Urban Scholars.
